Heer & Veer (Part 5)

Heer was frightened, and that was when Tahir walked towards her, followed by the other guys. She took a step back, hitting the door. Heer didn’t know what to do now.

“Do you think you can easily study in this college after being the reason behind my suspension? I thought you would have left this place. But no, so now you will have to be awarded something special,” Tahir said with an evil smirk.

“Tahir, I’m sorry. Please don’t do anything. I want to study. Just leave me alone,” Heer started begging in front of him as tears continuously flowed through her eyes.

“Yeah, I’ll leave you before that I want to give you a gift which you can never deny. This would be an unforgettable day of your life.” Tahir caught hold of Heer’s hand and dragged her to the nearby wall. He trapped her between his hands and tried kissing her forcefully. Heer tried to protest hard, but it was of no use. Tahir’s lips were about to touch Heer’s, and that was when the hall’s door wide opened.

“Tahir, stop it.” Tahir let go of Heer at that command. It was from the one and only Veer Kapoor. He had just come at Seema’s call. She had called Veer to tell about Tahir’s plan as she had thought that he would be happy hearing it. But Veer was not happy about it as he hated harassing women. He didn’t want his friends to be involved in such things and hence drove to the college. He reached the D-Block and went straight inside the auditorium. He was witnessed by this kissing scene and hence, asked Tahir to stop.

“Veer, why did you…” Veer didn’t hear Tahir’s words as his concentration was on Heer. She was having breathing difficulty, and by viewing that, he was sure that she was undergoing a panic attack. He remembered when he had a panic attack at the age of six as he was locked in a room alone. Veer walked towards Heer and took her out of that room. Everyone present there was shocked seeing his sudden transformation, especially Tahir.

“What happened to him?” Seema asked.

“No, idea,” Tahir told with a cold tone.

Veer took Heer to the lake view ground. He made her sit on the lawn near the banks of the lake. Veer opened his bag pack and passed his water bottle to Heer.

“Here you go. Drink some water. You’ll be okay.” Heer took the water bottle with shivering hands and drank some water. She felt relieved as she took two or three deep breaths. After drinking, she gave it back to Veer.

“Let me ask you one thing. Do you get these panic attacks frequently?” Veer asked.

“No. It’s the first time since eight years.” Heer remembered the pieces of her dreaded past. The moments she had to spend in that house with that monster was still felt like a nightmare. She never wanted it to repeat.

“Hey, where were you lost?”

“Nothing. By the way, thank you so much. If you weren’t there, I” – “Oh, please. I hate these formalities. Moreover, I should’ve not helped you. But seeing that scene, I couldn’t stop myself. I thought you would leave this place. But you didn’t. I don’t like people who disobey me,” Veer told, cutting off Heer as he stood up along with her.

“But I need to study. Can’t you understand that?” Heer asked pathetically.

“I’m just telling you one thing. I don’t have any issue with you studying here. But it’s not like that for Tahir. Just hope that he forgives you for what you did.” Veer walked away after saying those words. Heer stood there itself in a shock, watching him walk away.
